How do I keep my sleeping bag from sliding off of air mattress?
Q. My sleeping bag has a nylon for the outside fabric. It slides off of my air mattress and if I use another sleeping bag, it will slide off of my sleeping bag and fall on to the floor of the tent. This is a real pain, as my air mattress is on a frame about 2.5 feet off the ground.

A. try putting a blanket on your mattres, it should keep the sleeping bag from sliding off.

When did your baby start sleeping in a crib?
Q. My son is 4 months old.. and I am thinking that he is probably growing out of his bassinet.. or will soon. What age did your child begin sleeping in a crib and what method did you use to make it go smoothly. Currently, he naps fine in his crib. I place him in it with lullabies and he can usually put himself to sleep. Suggestions please.. thanks.

A. My daughter was 14 weeks early. She was in the incubator for 11 weeks and then transitioned right into the crib, and has slept in a crib ever since. If he naps okay in his crib, he will probably be okay to start spending nights in it, as well. Babies like to have boundaries, so make sure you swaddle him. It will make him feel much safer in his bigger bed!

Baby is 4 weeks old. Will she start sleeping longer during the next month?
Q. She is sleeping for about 2 and a half hours to 3 hours each night. I heard that after 4 weeks they start sleeping longer during the night. Is this true and are there any tips for helping her sleep better? During the day I keep her room bright and noise level normal and during the night dark and quiet. Any tips would be great! Thank you!

A. It depends on the baby. All babies are different. Mine started sleeping better after 4 weeks old. By 2 months he was going about 4 hours at night and by 4 months he was sleeping through the night. But, that's just my baby. I know some babies who are a year who still wake up every 2 - 3 hours during the night. One tip that you can try is to try to extend her daytime feedings to every 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Don't go over 3 - 4 hours between feedings. By extending the daytime feedings, it helps them to see that they can fast at night. Also don't let her take too many naps, or too long of naps, during the day. Try not to change her diaper unless it's soiled or really wet. If you do change her, then keep it quick and effective with as few lights as… [cont.]
