GNU Free Documentation License I'm waking up to dreams of committing suicide, what can I do to get rid of these dreams? Q. I have been having repeated dreams of committing suicide. The dreams don't actually involve the final event of pulling the trigger, but they do involve holding a gun to my head. I'm waking up to these dreams and they are interfering with my ability to get a good nights rest. I have a therapist and a psychiatrist. I also am on anti-depressants already. Watch some funny movies, or read a funny or pleasant story. It sounds corny, but I love to read Reminisce magazine and learn about the lives that my parents and grandparents lived. It's lighthearted reading that doesn't evoke any negative thought patterns. Also, don't eat anything after 8 in the evening. Q. I frequently (about every other month) have dreams about staircases that have been altered in some way. Like, you're going up & then at some point there's a big gap in the steps & you have to jump to make it, or you fall a long ways. Sometimes there are obstacles you have to jump on or swing across to get to the next steps. I'm usually with people in these dreams, & they have no problem making it to the next step, but I'm freaked out that I'll fall. The other day, my brother told me he had a dream about a spiral staircase where the steps were lilypads, & it was hard to get from one to the other.
