Do you think my dog should sleep outside or in?
Q. My dog sleeps in the garage in very cold weather but we give him blankets and a bed to sleep in. Do you think he should stay inside or outside of my house. If you say yes for him to stay inside, my parents hate my dog to sleep inside so what should i do to help convince them that he should stay inside?

A. If your parents refuse to let the dog in when the temperatures are too cold, suggest a compromise. Heated dog beds are sold for such occasions and that would help keep your pal warm. Also, if you get a dog house, like a plastic igloo, sounds silly for in the garage but it will help retain his body heat. The combination of both should keep your pal nice and toasty. If all else fails and its up to you. Try a cardboard box, large enough for the dog to stand and turn in and put the blankets in there. The object is to keep as much of the dogs own heat around him as possible. Kudos to you for loving your dog so much, I wish more adults would be so caring. Good luck

Where does your dog sleep at night?
Q. My dog, Tesse used to sleep in a crib, but she broke a hole in it, and now she can get out. This wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have cats. It's not like Tesse's going to eat them or something, but she does eat their food and gets fat. I don't want to put her in the garage, and it's hard to sleep with her on my bed. Now where should she sleep? My dog's a cavalier king charles spaniel - a relative of the cocker spaniel and springer spaniel. She's about 20lbs - not a huge dog.

A. We have 2 cavaliers. Sophie a blenheim and Sadie a tri. They sleep in their crate at nite. Actually they will go and sleep in there during the day as well. If you have never used a crate be assured that it is not unpleasant for your dog. They consider it their home and are very happy. Just make sure that she has a large enough crate. good luck

A. I'm very sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose a dog, let alone put one down. I think you should get another dog whenever you are ready. There isn't a right or wrong time. Think of it this way, your dog that you lost is giving a gift of a family to a new dog. You aren't replacing her, you are honoring her by saving another dog! Again, you have my deepest sympathy. I hope you find a new companion for your dog and your family soon. Good luck.
