A dream is a succession of images, thoughts, sounds, or emotions passing through the mind during sleeping. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology. Cultural meaning of dreamingJacob's dream of a ladder of angelsThroughout history, people have sought meaning in dreams or divination through dreams. Dreams have been described physiologically as a response to neural processes during sleep, psychologically as reflections of the subconscious, and spiritually as messages from gods or predictions of the future. Many cultures had practiced dream incubation, with the intention of cultivating dreams that were prophetic or contained messages from the divine. Judaism has a traditional ceremony called "Hatavat Halom" – literally meaning making the dream a good one. Through this rite disturbing dreams can be transformed to give a positive interpretation by a rabbi or a rabbinic court. From Wikipedia under the

Example: 'I was in a dark house in the middle of the night.' Or do you just list things? Example: - dark house - midnight Can you tell me the best way to record a dream in a dream journal? I never know how to start it and finish it because I don't actually know how the dream started or finished. Asked by minkpink - Sat Oct 24 18:58:29 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. It might be easier to remember if you write I am in a dark house etc, If you cant remember anything when you get up just write or draw the first thing that comes into your head and that might trigger something. Also if the dream doesnt make sense to you IE you were in a house then you were in a forest, dont write that you walked anywhere just record it. Also before you go to bed say to yourself that when you wake up you will remeber your dream and that should also help Answered by Brad - Sat Oct 24 19:08:44 2009 What would a dream about husband giving you a food processor as a gift? Q. I had a dream last night that my husband bought me a food processor. Anybody who knows its interpretation, I can't seem to find it in any online dream dictionary, Thanks! Asked by guRl - Sat Jun 23 13:41:50 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. First do you like food pro. or not? The dream might be you thinking that your husband doesnt care about you or would get you a thoughtless gift. Maybe you think he doesnt really know you well. Tell your husband about your dream so you can have a good laugh. And make it clear to him that a food processor would be a thoughtless gift that would upset you and it would be unromantic (if you dont like food proc.s). This dream might be a way for you to communicate to your husband your likes and dislikes before he does get you a thoughtless gift. Q. I've always been curious as to how a person who has been blind their whole life and never experienced sight would be able to dream? If they do dream (and everyone supposedly does), then what is the preocess for their dreams? Asked by viking_no3 - Wed Apr 26 07:39:17 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. maybe they also dream but not as what we experience. this is my theory about this, a person dreams of some things that maybe they experienced or things they imagined. as a blind, they don't know what the physical things look like but they can feel, they can hear and they can smell. their dreams are full of hearing, smelling, and feeling but no sight at all... Answered by phantom_of_the_secret_opera - Wed Apr 26 07:46:58 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Dream" A dream is the experience of envisioned images, sounds, or other sensations during sleep. The events of dreams are often impossible or unlikely to occur in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer. Dreams can also be what we want for ourselves in our lives, our hopes, our expectations, our plans – things which we wish for ourselves but often seem forever to be tantalizingly just beyond our reach.
