From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Sleep is a naturally recurring state of relatively suspended sensory and motor activity, characterized by total or partial unconsciousness and the inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles. It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli, and it is more easily reversible than hibernation or coma. It is observed in all mammals, all birds, and many reptiles, amphibians, and fish. In humans, other mammals, and a substantial majority of other animals that have been studied (such as some species of fish, birds, ants, and fruit flies), regular sleep is essential for survival. The purposes and mechanisms of sleep are only partially clear and are the subject of intense research. PhysiologyFrom Wikipedia under the

Any ideas of anywhere else??? Asked by SIMONE - Sun Aug 2 01:14:34 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments A. Ours are just in the house because it is way too cold for them outside. Answered by Maria B - Sun Aug 2 01:17:45 2009 What do you think about allowing your baby to sleep in a playpen instead of a crib? Q. I recently began putting my 7 month old daughter in her playpen in her room for naps and nighttime sleep, just to try to train her to sleep in it. This is because she refused to sleep in it before and wouldn't nap at my mom's when being babysat or when my husband and I would take her places. After the first day she caught on quick and has been sleeping in it for a whole week. She actually seems to sleep better in it than in her crib! With her crib she had been trying to yank the bumper off, and if I take the bumper off she smacks her head on the rails and gets her legs and arms stuck in the rails. Plus, she loses her pacificer through the rails and screams bloody murder until I come back in the room and give it to her. Having her in… [cont.] Asked by punkinbutt'smama - Thu Aug 30 23:41:12 2007 - - 19 Answers - 0 Comments A. My last two children are only 14 months apart and my first two are 13 months apart, so my youngest has always slept in the playpen until the oldest one is ready to leave the crib for a big girl/boy bed. My playpen has the part that attaches on the top so it is like a bassinet. I just put a few extra blankets under the sheet for some extra padding. All of my babies love it! I don't think it is a big deal. I just took my 3 month old out of the top part and started having her sleep in it like a normal playpen. I agree with you to, it is great when we travel her normal bed goes with us, so it is no problem! Answered by Julie S - Thu Aug 30 23:48:51 2007 How can I sleep during the daytime?
Q. I work early mornings at least once per week (from 6:00am-2:00pm), I am usually very tired during the afternoon and I want to take a nap, but I have trouble sleeping during daylight hours. Is there any way I can catch up on sleep better during the afternoon, without losing sleep through the night? Asked by Colin - Sun Jan 14 13:52:36 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you live alone, which probably works the best for this. Stop what you are doin' the very moment you become tired! Nothing else is important, just drop. It can all wait. Cause' 90 percent of all of it in the world is nothing but B. anyway! Close the blinds. Turn everything off. All the lights, the sound, everything. Take care of the pets first. They are the greatest of friends. Got earplugs? Blinders? Have them at the ready, in the nightstand. Keep The Room Cool! Temperature wise, cause that can make the biggest difference in metabolic rate. Then put up the feet! Forget about everything! Enjoy. Forget about all cares and woe. Ever try breath counting meditation? One deep breath in, fewww, let out. Count one on… [cont.] Answered by smoothsoullady - Sun Jan 14 14:53:12 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "sleep"
